Japan has cancelled the Tokyo 2020 Olympics due to an unprecedented lack of toilet paper.
The International Olympic Committee reportedly encouraged Japan to postpone the event until later in the year, but Japanese officials have decided to pull the plug citing “a critical shortage in bog rolls”.
Tokyo 2020 Olympics organizing committee president Yoshiro Mori told reporters, “It is regrettable.”
Japan is now set to lose around 100 billion USD, but media companies producing cooking programs to replace live Olympic events will see a big boost in profits.
“We blame China,” said Mori.
Japan says it will be attempting to submit the coronavirus to the UNESCO World Heritage List on behalf of China.
